Is palm oil hazardous to my health?


No, palm oil is a natural ingredient that is not hazardous to health. This oil has been used in foods for thousands of years in countries like India, China and Thailand.

Like all oils, palm oil is made up of 100% fats – half are saturated fats, the other half are unsaturated. Just like unsaturated fats, saturated fats are very important to the body’s natural functions. However, when consumed in excess, they can negatively impact the cardiovascular system. We consume an average of 5.5g per day per person, so palm oil only makes up a minor part of our saturated fat consumption (about 10% of a French person’s intake of saturated fatty acids).
