Do French people consume too much palm oil?
When it comes to French oil consumption, palm oil is only in fifth place. It is actually sunflower oil that comes in first place at more than 13g/day/person, followed by rapeseed oil and olive oil. Estimates show that the French consume an average of about 5.5 g of palm oil per day, which represents 6% of the total fat intake. As far as nutrition is concerned, in France, the average daily consumption of palm oil is about 10% of the recommended daily allowance of saturated fatty acids.
