WWF ranking: our members are among the best in terms of sustainable palm oil sourcing

January 2020. The NGO WWF published on January 20 its scorecard of 173 companies buying palm oil. WWF has established a scoring grid on 22 points: the grades range from zero to 21.5, for a maximum score of 22.

Six of our members have been assessed and obtain an average score of 16.4 out of 22. Four of them appear in the TOP 20: Ferrero gets the first place, followed by Nestlé (14), Cérélia (18) and Vandemoortele (20).

We congratulate our members for their commitment and for their mobilization within our Alliance. Our members go beyond their own responsible sourcing policies, as they are invested in a global improvement for the whole supply chains. Regarding palm oil, our Alliance has been mobilized in 2018 to strengthen the RSPO certification system in favor of greater forest protection and better working conditions for planters.

This shared commitment and this encouraging results demonstrate the effectiveness of collective action in order to achieve quickly the Zero Deforestation objective, taken up by a large number of companies.
